The Conservatory Kitchen

A kitchen expansion with bay window, French doors, and a pergola deck seamlessly connects this home to its lush backyard garden.

This project was inspired by a homeowner’s clear vision: to blur the line between her beloved garden and her home’s interior. From the start, she knew she wanted to experience the beauty of her garden year-round, and the design process brought that dream into focus.

Drawing inspiration from traditional English conservatories, we expanded the kitchen with a charming bay window bump-out overlooking the yard—perfect for a cozy breakfast nook flooded with natural light. The seamless transition where new tile meets the home’s original hardwood adds another layer of detail to the space.

To create a stronger flow to the outdoors, we replaced a window with elegant French doors leading to a brand-new deck and pergola. This addition extends her dining and entertaining area outside, while also opening possibilities for hanging plants, climbing vines, and other garden accents.

The result is a deeply personal transformation: a home that now celebrates both comfort and connection to nature. With sweeping garden views, abundant sunlight, and expanded living space, the homeowner can enjoy her outdoor sanctuary in every season.
